As the population of Ballarat continues to grow it is fundamental that we develop an integrated and sustainable transport system that gives the community a range of convenient transport options. Council recognises that cycling plays an important role in creating a more sustainable and healthy community, and is actively promoting Ballarat as a cycling city.
The Ballarat Cycling Action Plan has been developed to identify projects and priorities for improving conditions for cycling. This plan has been requested by stakeholders and is a key recommendation of Council’s 25 year strategic plan - Ballarat Strategy (2015)
The key documents adopted by Council in March 2017 in relation to cycling were
the Cycling Action Plan.
a detailed Technical Reference Report which outlines the Ballarat Bicycle Network (BBN). Each individual route of the BBN has been field tested, mapped and datasheets created to guide infrastructure for each route.
All documents, including a breakdown of each individual route are available under the tab to the right.
