Where can I find copies of the Draft Governance Rules and Draft Public Transparency Policy
Copies of the Draft Governance Rules and Draft Public Transparency Policy can be found in the Document Library above or hard copies can be obtained from firstname.lastname@example.org
What are the Governance Rules?
The Governance Rules include the way Council conducts meetings, makes decisions, takes records of meetings and features an Election Period Policy.
They also cover the mayor and deputy mayor's election, specific mayoral powers and conflict of interest disclosure.
The rules are being changed to ensure good governance and transparent Council decision making in the community's best interest.
Many of these Governance Rules elements are derived from the Meeting Procedures Local Law 2018, which it is proposed they replace.
These rules must be implemented by September 1.
What is the Public Transparency Policy?
The Public Transparency Policy supports Council in its ongoing drive for good governance and reinforces the importance of open and accountable conduct as well as providing guidance as to how Council information is to be made publicly available.
