National Trust People's Choice Award

The 2018 Ballarat Heritage Awards, including the National Trust People’s Choice Award, were announced at an official presentation ceremony held on Tuesday 15 May.

Ballarat residents had the opportunity to vote for their favourite heritage project with the National Trust People’s Choice Award returning to the Ballarat Heritage Awards in 2018.

The People’s Choice Award made its debut in 2017 with more than 700 votes received. This year more than 1100 votes were recieved.

In 2018 there were 13 diverse projects to choose from, the winner of the People's Choice Award is:
Alan Phelps and David Young of Central Joinery, for the Restoration of the Old Colonists’ Association Building shopfronts

Joint winner: The Re-Awakening the Dragon Exhibition, Gold Museum
Joint winner: Save Civic Hall


Award: The Greg Binns Award for outstanding community contribution to heritage
Winner: Ballarat Tramway Museum
