The Ballarat CBD Study Area defined by the Urban Design Framework

STOP 1 | Existing Heritage Overlays: A significant area of the CBD is already subject to heritage controls. We also have individual heritage overlays that cover specific buildings in the immediate vicinity. And several Victorian Heritage Register (VHR) listed sites that are of State significance.

STOP 3 | Topography: On this topography map, you'll see a blue marker showing where you're standing and a red line tracing the escarpment.

STOP 5 & STOP 7 | Areas with a High Potential for Change: These areas have been identified for a combination of factors, but the main one is that they sit on the edge of the CBD's 'heritage core'.
