Survey now closed

Thank for your interest in the Age Friendly Ballarat Survey - it is now closed.

We had over 600 survey responses from people telling us about how age friendly they find Ballarat. We appreciate the time that participants took to share their thoughts with us on a range of age friendly indicators.

Congratulations to the five winners of the $100 vouchers drawn randomly from survey participants. Our winners are Carmello N., Jeff S., Alan H., Bill R., and Graham B.

The survey data will now be analysed and we look forward to sharing the results of the first Age Friendly Ballarat Survey in February 2026.

A place where age is not a barrier to:

  • living well
  • being included
  • feeling safe
  • being recognised for your contributions
  • having public spaces that accommodate your needs as you age; and
  • making choices about your life.

The City of Ballarat is committed to ensuring Ballarat is an age friendly community where people feel valued, connected, included and respected and feel confident to participate fully in life however they choose.

The Ageing Well in Ballarat Strategy follows the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Age Friendly Communities Framework which is being used around the world to ensure practical measures are put in place to help people as they age. Part of our commitment includes measuring our progress and a continuous improvement approach.

The results of the survey will be used as a baseline to measure our future progress and to inform strategic planning at City of Ballarat. The results will also be submitted to WHO to show our commitment to being an age friendly community.

  • We'll be out and about

During Ballarat Seniors Festival, we will be visiting different events and community groups with the Age Friendly Ballarat survey.
