Draft Buninyong Botanic Gardens Masterplan – Thank you for your feedback!

In December 2021, Council released a copy of the Draft Masterplan for the Buninyong Botanic Gardens and the Gong and asked the community for feedback. This draft had been created using community input collected in July-September 2021 as well as several important reference documents including the Buninyong Botanic Gardens Conservation Study and Masterplan (Jones, 2004).

We are currently reviewing the feedback received and using it to finalise the Masterplan. A copy of the finalised Masterplan as well as a document articulating the feedback and a response detailing how the feedback was used to progress the final document will be released in the coming weeks.

Next Steps

The finalised Masterplan will be presented to Council for consideration and adoption. This is planned for April 2022. If this date changes, the timeline will be updated.

Following adoption, officers will progress the top priority works - reconstruction of the Gong Reservoir Dam Wall - to detailed design ahead of a construction tender.
