This draft strategy provides a framework for how the City of Ballarat and the community will work together to advance our shared goal to reduce waste and support Victoria’s transition to a circular economy.

The draft strategy outlines a future waste management vision with sensible and sustainable practices that move away from traditional ‘take – make – waste’ patterns and embrace the full potential of a circular economy.

It contains specific aims and targets as well as an Action Plan that clearly identifies how we can work together over the next four years to achieve five key goals:

1. Create less waste

2. Increase reuse and recycling

3. Deliver circular waste and recycling services

4. Protect our environment

5. Empower our community
