Ballarat's Creative City Strategic Landscape
The Creative City Strategy and Ballarat's Creative Precinct Masterplan (2019 - 2030) are the primary guiding documents supporting the arts and creative services and cultural industries in Ballarat. But there are many other teams, strategies and plans across the whole of Council that work in support of building and supporting a vibrant creative sector in Ballarat. The Creative City obligations include tracking the benefits to the arts and cultural sectors, ensuring that we provide opportunities for access and participation to our whole community, right through to supporting cultural micro-enterprises, services, businesses and industry.

The City of Ballarat is seeking input from the following individuals and organisations:
- community members who seek access or currently use fit-for purpose spaces for creative and cultural practice (for example, spaces that offer dance classes, rehearsal and performance opportunities, workshops or arts education)
- community members who are looking to or already participate in creative and cultural practice (for example, dance classes, performance classes and activities, arts workshops, exhibitions or networking)
- arts organisations and membership groups
- creative and cultural practitioners from hobbyist, to emerging, mid career or professional.
The purpose of this engagement is to take stock of how well the CIty of Ballarat provides for and meets the needs of the creative and cultural sector. This survey will inform a report which will include reporting on service gaps and recommendations.
