About the Project

The City of Ballarat’s vision for Reconciliation is to promote unity, respect, and understanding by walking together with Traditional Owners and all First Nations people in our community toward Reconciliation. As a Council we are committed to taking tangible steps to genuinely walk together towards reconciliation.

A Reconciliation Action Plan focuses on actions for achieving the reconciliation vision. It focuses on strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and piloting strategies for further reconciliation commitment. The draft Plan outlines our key commitments and actions for the next two years, building upon the foundations of previous Reconciliation Action Plans and ongoing reconciliation activities.

The draft Reconciliation Action Plan has been developed in collaboration with First Nations community members, key stakeholders and other community partners.
