About the project
The City of Ballarat, in collaboration with the Eureka Stockage Memorial Park Committee (the volunteer group that helps oversee and manage the hall), is planning upgrades to the Eureka Hall.
The draft designs have been developed in response to building condition reports, accessibility requirements, and issues identified by regular users.
What upgrades are planned?
The proposed upgrades aim to improve the accessibility, safety, comfort and overall use of the facility for the community and include
- Improving accessibility and making the hall Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant.
- New internal toilets
- Improved storage
- Kitchen upgrades
- Replacement of sections of the roof
- Upgraded heating and cooling
- New external public toilets, replacing the old toilet block.
What happens next?
Your input will help shape the next stage of design by identifying what works well, what could be improved, and what matters most to users of the Eureka Hall. Have your say by viewing the draft floorplans and completing the quick survey below. Engagement closes 30 June 2026.
Funding will need to be secured before the next stages of the project (detailed designs and construction) can proceed.
As the hall is located within a heritage area, the proposed upgrades will be subject to heritage approvals. A heritage impact assessment will also be undertaken.
