  • 482 formal votes

Engagement methods included a MySay page, survey and quick poll, resident letters, media promotion, weekday and weekend drop-in sessions, and a stall at Springfest

Key themes we heard

While views differed on the preferred location, several consistent themes emerged:

  • A strong desire for an accessible, thoughtfully designed facility
  • Importance of safety, including lighting and visibility

Feedback specific to each site highlighted:

  • Opposite Loreto College: Support for event use and familiarity of the location, alongside concerns about visual impact and proximity to Loreto College
  • St Patrick’s Point: Strong support linked to the playground, accessible parking and trail access, with feedback from families and runners about the current lack of nearby facilities

What’s next?

A report summarising community feedback will be presented to Councillors at the March Council Meeting. Councillors will consider the engagement findings before making a decision on the preferred location.

We thank everyone who took the time to share their views.
