Update 10/08/2023: Consultation has now closed and we thankyou for you input.

The City of Ballarat is undertaking a heritage assessment of Lydiard Street to investigate the significance of this streetscape on a precinct basis at both state and national level. Lydiard Street is already a heritage overlay precinct in the Ballarat Planning Scheme and includes a range of individual places on the Victorian Heritage Register and Inventory.

The City of Ballarat considers the precinct to be of State and potentially National level and we need robust and integrated protection for this iconic streetscape.

As part of this project, we would like to hear from members of the community to further understand the significance of Lydiard Street. Your knowledge, experiences, stories and memories are valuable in developing this understanding.

The City of Ballarat is hosting an information session to be held in Ballarat Town Hall (Trench Room) on Monday 17th April, 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Submissions can be made via this portal or sent to strategicplanningsubmissions@ballarat.vic.gov.au.

We accept submissions until 5pm, 31 May 2023.

What happens next?

Submissions will be considered carefully to ensure the Lydiard Street Heritage Assessment will be shaped by your feedback. The final document is expected to be presented to the Council later this year.
