The City of Ballarat wants to make it easier for everyone to share their ideas, opinions, and feedback with Council.

We’re updating how we engage with our community, and we need your help. Whether it’s parks, roads, community services, new developments, or something else — we want to know how you prefer to hear from us and how you’d like to get involved.

Complete our short survey to share your thoughts and go into the draw to win a $200 food or fuel voucher!

The City of Ballarat regularly asks for community input on projects, services and plans that shape our city and neighbourhoods.

But we know not everyone feels informed or knows how to have their say — and we want to change that.

By sharing your feedback, you’ll help us:

  • Improve how we communicate with you.
  • Make it easier for you to share your thoughts.
  • Ensure more people feel included and heard.

Together, we can make sure the community’s voice helps shape the decisions that matter most.

We want to hear from you about all kinds of local projects and services, including:

  • Parks and playgrounds
  • Roads and transport
  • Waste and recycling
  • New developments and town planning
  • Heritage protection
  • Climate action and sustainability
  • Community centres, libraries and facilities
  • Council’s annual budget

Let us know what matters most to you!

Your feedback will help us design better ways for the community to have their say. After we review all the feedback, we’ll share what we heard and outline the changes we’ll make to improve community engagement across Ballarat.

In 2024, Making Your Voice Matter attracted over 2,000 visitors and 649 contributors, with 40% taking part in a Council survey for the first time. The campaign successfully increased MySay membership and helped us better understand the community’s preferences and barriers to engagement. Key themes included the need for simple language, flexible participation options, better communication about opportunities, and more inclusive and accessible engagement methods.
