The City of Ballarat is developing a tenancy policy to best meet the needs of council tenants.
The policy aims to ensure council owned and managed properties are appropriately maintained, developed and occupied in the best interest of both council and the community.
It relates to properties that council owns, or has delegated authority to manage, and will not apply to casual facility users.
The policy must also protect the property’s public land status and ensure rights of perpetuity are not afford to any tenant.
