Project Overview
Victoria Park Inclusive Play Space has been a favourite since 2016, welcoming more than 140,000 visitors every year! It's designed so everyone - kids, parents, grandparents, and carers - can play together.
In 2022-23, the Sensory Friendly Stay and Play Zone was added to support people who needed a space to recharge or seek extra sensory fun. Spaces like this, makes the playground even more welcoming for those with sensory sensitivities or autism. Thanks to Touched by Olivia, local partners, and the Disability Advisory Committee, this space is part of the Livvi's Place network - helping create inclusive play spaces for everyone.
The Play Zone features multiple zones with accessible equipment, creating a space where everyone can play together - children, parents, grandparents, and carers of all ages and abilities. It's not a dedicated space for people with disabilities; it's a space for everyone, promoting community connectedness.
Some of the elements that you'll find at the Sensory Friendly Stay and Play Zone:
- Double flying fox
- Swings, slide and carousel
- Imaginative water-play all year round
- Adult Changing Place (with hoist and table for toileting needs)
If you haven't been there yet, hop on down, swing on the swings, and play today!
How you can be involved

We want to understand how the play space is being used, who is using the space and what the experience has been like. Your feedback will help us improve and ensure the space continues to meet the needs of everyone.
