Sally McLean Netball Courts Unveiled

The Sally McLean Netball Courts were officially unveiled at CE Brown Reserve on the 16 May 2026, marking an important moment for Ballarat’s sporting community.

The commemorative naming recognises the legacy of the late Sally McLean and her outstanding contribution to local netball, including her lasting impact on generations of players and her significant involvement in the Ballarat Football Netball League (BFNL).

The naming proposal was put forward by the Lake Wendouree Football Netball Club in partnership with the McLean family and was formally endorsed by Council following strong community support during the engagement process.

Event Highlights

The unveiling was attended by members of the McLean family, representatives from the Lake Wendouree Football Netball Club, local players, and Councillors, recognising Sally’s enduring contribution to the sport and wider community.

Project Complete

The commemorative naming process has now been completed, with signage installed and Council records formally updated.
