• Step 1 - Managing Council land

    Council land
Council manages a large property portfolio on behalf of the community, including land and buildings across Ballarat.

  • Step 2 - Regular reviews

Land and buildings are regularly reviewed to ensure they are being used effectively and meeting community needs.

  • Step 3 - Changing community needs

As communities grow and change, some land may become underutilised or no longer required.

  • Step 4 - Potentially surplus land

When land is no longer needed, it may be identified as potentially surplus, and Council considers what should happen next.

  • Step 5 - What happens next

After feedback closes, submissions will be reviewed and presented to Council.

  • Step 6 - What it could look like

Council may retain the land, declare it surplus, or undertake further investigation. The outcome will be shared with the community.
